General Information
Welcome to the inaugural British & Novice Championships, sanctioned by Muay Thai GB (MTGB).
WHO CAN ENTER?
All competitors must be resident in the UK and members of a Muay Thai Club, absolutely no “independents”. This is to increase participation at official MT clubs and to assure safe matches.
WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES?
The event is split into two categories, “British Championships” and “Novice Championships”, within those two categories the tournament is split into male and female weight divisions and also into age categories, all info can be found on the MTGB site.
British Championship is for experienced or intermediate competitors, anyone who has competed in over FOUR decision Muay Thai bouts, also anyone who may of competed in a different combat sport under “full contact rules”.
Novice Championship is for those who have LESS THAN FIVE COMPETITIVE BOUTS.
None decision inter-clubs do not count as Competitive experience.
It’s imperative that you enter the correct category, anyone found to have miss lead the organisers will be disqualified and possibly banned from future events. This is to ensure a safe, level playing field for all competitors.
HOW MANY TIMES WILL I FIGHT?
Categories are limited to eight entries, so the winner would fight a maximum of three bouts to win the category.
WHO PROVIDES THE SAFETY KIT?
For Seniors Safety equipment will be supplied by us, Juniors may wear their own equipment as long as it is in good order, competitors in the “British Senior Championships” will wear:
Head Guard
Cotton Shin Pads
Cotton Elbow Pads
Boxing Gloves
Groin protector (This will not be provided)
Gum shield (again, not provided)
Competitors in the “Novice Championship” will wear the above plus a body shield.
Female competitors may wear a breast protector.
Juniors will wear:
Head Guard
Cotton Shin Pads
Boxing Gloves
Groin protector (This will not be provided)
Gum shield (again, not provided)
Body shield

NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE.
