How the Tournament Works
Every student will represent their training area (e.g., Hampton or South Lincs). Points earned in the competition count toward their area’s total, and the area with the most points at the end of the league wins a trophy!

Over the course of the 3 tournament through the year the 10 students with the most points will be crowned INSPIRED GRAND CHAMPION 2025

Point System:
1st Place: 10 points
2nd Place: 5 points
3rd Place: 3 points
4th Place: 2 points
Runner-up: 1 point

Points only count for one Standard Points category per tournament, but students can compete in multiple categories.

Experience Levels
When registering, choose the correct level:

Beginner: White to Yellow Belt (Little Heroes/Inspired Heroes) and fewer than 4 competitions.
Intermediate: Orange to Purple Belt (Warriors Journey) or 5-8 competitions.
Advanced: Brown to Black Belt (Road to Black Belt)

If registered in the wrong category, students will be moved. Need help?

Categories Explained
Here’s a closer look at the categories so you can choose the best fit for your child:

Blocker Battle (Ages 6 and under):
This is a fun, age-appropriate sparring event for our youngest competitors. Students use padded blockers to score points by tapping their opponent’s legs. It’s a great way to introduce them to competition in a safe and exciting way!

Points Sparring:
Just like in class, competitors spar and are stopped and restarted whenever a clean point is scored. This category focuses on precision, speed, and technique to earn points.

Challenge Cup (Points):
This category is open to all grades and ages, with no restrictions on height or weight. Fighters are grouped based on age and experience to ensure fairness. A cash prize awaits the winner, making this one of the most thrilling events! Note: To participate, students must also register for a regular fighting category.

Tag Team (NEW):
Teams of two fighters compete together, tagging each other in during the match. Each team must make at least two tags during the fight, or they’ll face a point penalty. Points scored by both teammates are added up, and the team with the highest score wins. This category emphasizes teamwork and strategy, alongside fighting skills.

Team Challenge (NEW):
Teams are selected by each area’s head instructor, and every team includes one boy and one girl from three specific age groups: 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13. This is a great way for students to bond, support each other, and showcase their teamwork. Points from all team members are combined, and the team with the highest score wins!

The Gauntlet (NEW): Minium of 4 competitors and maximum of 8
A high-energy, fast-paced event where each fight lasts a maximum of 10 seconds! The first fighter to land a clean technique stays on to face the next challenger, while the loser steps out. If no point is scored within the time limit, both fighters are eliminated. This category tests speed, strategy, and precision under pressure.

Kata & Weapons:
Competitors perform their Korean Kata or traditional weapons sequences. Judges score based on accuracy, technique, and overall performance. A perfect opportunity for students to showcase their forms and skills with weapons like bo staff or nunchucks.

Continuous Sparring:
Unlike class or Points Sparring, competitors are not stopped during the match. Judges evaluate based on the number of techniques scored and the flow, control, and overall effectiveness of each competitor’s sparring.
