AKP 2 is set for the 9th April 2023 and we welcome you to join us!
ENTRY TO THIS EVENT FOR SPECTATORS TICKETS are £7.50 online or £10 on the day
ALL COMPETITORS MUST REGISTER ONLINE BEFORE 22/01/2023
All weigh ins between 8am - 9am

Only one coach per 4 competitors
Only one coach per competitor will be allowed ringside at all times

We will only refund entry fee on the following criteria;
1. Medical proof you are unable to compete
2. We are unable to match you

LOCATION AND INFORMATION
Montrose Sport Centre, DD10 8TR
Montrose has some superb sights and history. If you are travelling to Montrose be sure to take the Angus Coastal Route for the best scenery.
With its own train station, Montrose is easily accessible. With most amenities being only a stone throw away from the train station.
The venue is only a 5 minute walk from the train station and is conveniently situated near the town centre.
NOTICE: WE ARE BEING VERY STRICT WITH LIGHT CONTACT & WILL NOT TOLERATE HEAVY CONTACT.
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN SET UP AS A PLATFORM FOR ATHLETES TO DEVELOP CONFIDENCE IN A COMPETITION SETTING AND PROVIDE A SAFE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR THOSE LOOKING TO PURSUE FIGHTING AS A SPORT.
NOVICE - Under 18 months training
ADVANCED - Over 18 months training
NO SPINNING BACKFISTS
Point fighting Scoring is as follows:
3 points awarded for kicks to the head.
2 points awarded for kicks to the midsection of the body.
1 point awarded for punches to the head or the body of the opponent.
The following techniques are legal in AKP K1 rules.
PLEASE NOTE 10 Point Must system - Significant strikes will be replaced with controlled precise strikes ( as power shots will not be tolerated ) this event is for experience whether novice or advanced and our judges are looking for clean effective strikes rather than significant.
(1) All forms of boxing in combination with kicks above the waist to the body and
the head
(2) Rear (reverse) kicks to the body or the head, as well as spinning back kicks to
the body and to the head
(3) Foot sweeps
(4) Low kicks to the thighs, inside and outside
(5) Knee attacks to the body as well as kicks with the shin to the thighs, body and
the head.
(6) Holding an opponent’s leg. Only one legal technique or step is allowed before
the fighter must let go of the leg.
(7) One knee strike from the clinch position, after which he or she must disengage
from the clinch.

THE COMPETITOR’S EQUIPMENT
All competitors must be equipped in all divisions with approved safety
equipment in the form of padded protectors:
An individually fitted breast-protector for females in all disciplines and all age
classes is recommended.
An individually fitted groin-protector for all age classes in all disciplines for
males is required and for females is recommended.
Foot protectors and shin guards are required for Kickboxing in both novice and
open classes.
Boxing approved boots are required for all boxing bouts in both novice and
open classes.
Foot protectors are optional for Low Kick. If foot protectors are not worn, shin
and instep protection is mandatory for both novice and open classes.
An individually fitted head-protector (helmet) is mandatory
10 OZ. GLOVES SHALL BE USED FOR ALL DIVISIONS AND CLASSES APART FROM POINTS FIGHTING, GLOVES MUST BE IN GOOD CONDITION.
Points sparring gloves, head & foot protection gear for point fighting divisions.
The competitors are responsible for bringing their own personal equipment and
that of their seconds to all AKP matches and tournaments.
A competitor may place a layer of medical adhesive tape over the closures of
his or her gloves and foot protectors in order to hold them in place.
All competitors with long hair may wear approved hair bands or holders
without any metal and must do so if the hair is long enough to pose a safety
hazard or could hinder the observation of the fight.
