General Information

Ms. Emilia Tambunga, a 7 year old CVMAC 7th Gup (Green Stripe) student, was tragically killed, along with her grandmother, on March 13, 2023, when they were struck by a vehicle driven by a human trafficker who was transporting illegals across Texas on IH 10, near Ozona, TX. The driver of the vehicle exited IH 10 at Ozona, to elude Law Enforcement officials who were in pursuit. He was traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph when he struck the Tambungas vehicle as they were crossing an intersection at a green light. Both Emilia and her grandmother were killed upon impact. Emilia’s mother, Elisa, and her Grandfather, Emilio, trained with us in 2002. Both wholeheartedly endorse our Memorial Tournament in memory of Emilia. Elisa will be attending our Tournament. Emilio is an active student at CVMAC and plans to compete in our event.
Partial proceeds from this event will be contributed to the Tambunga family to offset their costs related to travel to and from Washington D.C., New York, etc., to address Senate committee members, Dept. of Homeland Security members and others, on the dangers of the Open Borders attitude prevalent in the current political arena, and in their continuing efforts to promote awareness of the impact of illegal immigration in our local communities.
