This is a friendly tournament open to all our students and is the perfect introduction to the competition arena.
This competition also serves as the Gauteng Championships qualifier for the more serious competitor.
Brown and Black belts must please be available to serve as officials and judges.

WUKF Competition rules will be used, with some exceptions/changes, set out below.
Kata:
1. Kiddies Belts - Yoji Kata or Kihon Kata (One Round only).
2. White Belts - Kihon Kata or Taikyoku Shodan (One Round only).
3. Pre-Yellow Belts - Kihon Kata; Taikyoku Shodan or Heian Shodan (One Round only).
4. Yellow and Orange Belts - Heian Shodan; Heian Nidan or Heian Sandan (One Round Only).
5. Green to Red Belts - Shitei Kata (No repeat).
6. Brown-Black Belts - 1st Round - Shitei (Heian) Kata (nominated by the table); 2nd Round - Sentei Kata (No repeat).
Kata Elite:
1. Age group: 09 years and up.
2. Elite (Green to Black Belts) - 1st Round - Sentei Kata; 2nd Round - Tokui Kata (No repeat).
Must be different katas from the ones performed in the Kata division.
Kumite Basic:
1. Kiddies & White belts - Static Jodan (x 5).
2, Pre-Yellow Belts - 3 x Jodan Oi zuki attack & opponent will defend with 3 x Age uke. Gyaku zuki counter.
3. Yellow Belts - 3 x Jodan Oi zuki attack & opponent will defend with 3 x Age uke. Gyaku zuki counter.
- 3 x Chudan Oi zuki attack & opponent will defend with 3 x Soto uke. Gyaku zuki counter.
4. Orange Belts - Sanbon Kumite.
- Attacker - Jodan Oi zuki x Chudan Oi zuki x Chudan Mae geri.
- Defender - Age uke x Soto uke x Gedan uke x Gyaku zuki counter.
5. Green to Black Belts u/13yr - Nihon Kumite.
6. Green to Black Belts 13yr and older - Ippon Kumite.
7. White or red bubble mitts for Nihon and Ippon Kumite
8. Gum guards are compulsory for Nihon and Ippon Kumite.
9. Body protectors and Helmets for children are optional and if a helmet is worn, they don't have to wear a gum guard.
10. Foot and shin protectors are optional.
Belts:
Novice: Pre-School, White belts with stripes, White, Pre-Yellow, Yellow and Orange Belts
Intermediate: Green to Red 3 Belts
Advanced: Brown to Black Belts
General:
1. If less than 4 competitors in a category, it might be combined with another category.
2. Competitors are ONLY ALLOWED to compete in 1 kata and/or kumite team, not in multiple teams.
